Asante Kotoko captain Amos Frimpong is set to earn his first international cap after being named in Ghana's squad for the final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Kenya.

The versatile defender was included in the 24-man squad listed by head coach Kwesi Appiah for the 23 March clash.

Frimpong can play as a centre back and deployed as either a right or left back.

GHANASoccernet.com understands he will step in for US-based Harrison Afful who was not called up for the less-important qualifier.

He has been one of the influential players in the Kotoko set-up during their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Frimpong earned the call-up alongside his Asante Kotoko teammates Felix Annan and Kwame Bonsu.
