Ghana winger Andre Ayew missed a penalty but scored a brace for Olympique Marseille in their 2-0 humbling of Ajaccio in the French Ligue 1 on Saturday.

The 21-year-old's double gave an under-pressure Didier Deschamps some breathing space as they recovered a midweek 1-0 defeat to Arsenal in the Uefa Champions League.

He kept his composure after missing a penalty in the 20th minute to score on the half hour mark and four minutes after the interval.

Ayew hit a fine right foot shot from inside of the box on the 30th minute after being played through by the flick of his younger brother Jordan.

Ayew did not allow the visitors to settle for the second half before punishing them once again.

He steered a header home from a Mathieu Valbuena on 49 minutes.

The victory moves Marseille to 12th on the Ligue 1 table with 12 points.

Last month, Andre scored a stunning brace against German champions Borussia Dortmund in the Uefa Champions League.

Well done! And I thought GSN said he picked up an injury? Nice to see Jordan Ayew meriting his frist starting place with an assist on his brother. These brothers form a good partnership. Gyan, beware! Cause if Jordan becomes a starter for Olympique Marseille, I can see our Arab desert-player getting dropped to the bench for the AFCON 2012.. What do you guys think?

THATS WAY ALMIGHTY GOD DOS HE THINGS, WHO EVER HE LEFTED UP NO ONE CAN BRING HIM DOWN. THSE HIPOCRATES STARTED BY SAYING HIS FATHER'S INFLUENCE BUT THEY DIDN'T SUCCEED,LATER ON THEY SAY HIS FITTING WITH PLAYERS OVER A JERSEY N NOW THEY HIS OVER HYPE LOOK AT ALL THES,,

i dont know why some of you forumites here are always picking upon Gyan.I mean if Dede and Jordan especially put up a cameo performance, does it mean they have the guts already to overtake Gyan.Jordan had game time against Brazil and he was just above average of a player. He needs time to really get going so i urge you all not to be jumping the gun especially some arm chair coaches on here.Gyan can walk into the Marseille 11 with ease.Remember all the top teams were gunning for his signature and even Remy who is the top marksman for Lyon was below the perking order behind Gyan during last season before he moved to Sunderland.

marseille not lyon. remy is quicker yhan gyan

Why cant any Ghana national team coach see this?! Swap K Asamoah and A Ayew positions, play K Asamoah on the wing so he can dribble and be his usual wasteful self. Allow Ayew to create and scoe goals just off the main striker. Bring Ransford Osei in!!!

  • EK 8 years ago

That's right, I will take Remy all day over Gyan

  • Kwasea 8 years ago

    Idiot. He is on loan!!

  • jayjay 8 years ago

JKQ,i think you should apply for one of the coaching jobs if you think you are better than Plavi. And you guys who are always after Gyan should shut up.

My friend Maxwell Johnson, its evident you did not watch the game. Dede missed a penalty in the first half and the follow-up was saved. Actually, Dede missed several opportunities. The penalty was taking well, the goalie just guessed the right way and made several good saves. Dede and KPB had a good week - no more no less.

    Alright,thx 4 the tip mate.

LOIC REMY PLAYS 4 MARSEILLE NOT LYON.REMY IS FASTER N MORE SKILFUL THAN GYAN. I AM HAPPY 4 JORDAN COS IT IS NOT EAZY GETING PLAYING TIME WHEN U R COMPETING WITH FRENCH INTERNATIONALS LYK REMY, VALBUENA AND GIGNAC.

  • Words 8 years ago

Luk guys. I don't believe Gyan made da best move by goin 2 Arab but Gyan is still da best striker we ve now.Jordan is for the future n is no where near Gyan even in Arab.

Its a delight watching dis chap. He is a Prescription 2 bordom/stress n is a potential 2 Equal n breake etoo's four times caf best Award. I think dis boy has got a vision unlike dos midiocre's who run away frm EPL challenges 2 play in amateurish leagues. Whiles midfielders are bracing n hatricking, all he can offer is theateric AZONTO dance. How many goals 4 Al-ain so far? A penalty Goal n u compare this to a more productive LOIC Remy! GOD BLESS GH, GOD KEEP BLESSING THE AYEWS

Even in our everyday lives if we get the Opportunity to go n work for a Company who offers more Cash, wohnt u Guys go n take the New Job n Leave the old Job?p Afterall gyan has been scoring on a regula r Basis for the b.Stars n we don't Care Wether He is playing in Dubai or Bangladesch As Long As He keeps on scoring for j Haters of gyan get a Life n stop hatin on gyan

What if gyan had decided to play in the Glo premeire legue?

  • Fu-Chu 8 years ago

This is all I have to say: 1) They need to stop calling up Adiyiah and start calling Jordan Ayew on a permanent basis to the Black Stars. 2) Kevin Prince Boateng is playing at an incredible level, and the coach and the Black Stars need to find "common ground" with him. We may not use him for the African Cup but he will be very much needed for the World Cup because we will qualify from Africa. He scored three superb goals today for Milan and did not even start the game.

  • SABATO 8 years ago

What is PLAVI waiting for? DEDE must be used in an attacking position for the BLACK STARS.He must play just behind GYAN. He is now a matured goal scorer. Just use natural wingers to supply balls into the 18 and DEDE an GYAN will do justice to them.PLAVI wake up. Enough of Prince Tagoe annd Adiyah.
