Andre Ayew handed Marseille a massive injury boost after making an appearance in a 3-3 pre-season friendly draw with Swiss side FC Thun on Wednesday.

A club statement on Tuesday confirmed that the 22-year-old had complained of groin injury and club doctors were to assess the extent of the situation.

But the Ghana star started the game and lasted the entire duration as Elie Baup's side surrendered a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3.

"We had a good first half. It is difficult to think too much about this because it is a practice game. We are on track and we are growing in strength," Ayew told the club's website.

Andre's younger brother Jordan was a second half substitute while youngster Kevin Osei watched the entire match from the bench.
