Atalanta have announced the signing of AC Milan striker Andrea Petagna on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

The 20 year-old is currently on loan at Serie B side Ascoli and will remain there on loan until June when he’ll join Atalanta.

An official announcement on the Atalanta official website has revealed the signing of Petagna and his loan situation with Ascoli.

Petagna has made cameo appearances for the Rossoneri in the UEFA Champions League and more prominently in pre-season tournaments.

The forward has also played a key role with the Italian international youth sides and was noted for his strength and finishing.

So far this season Petagna has scored four goals in 18 appearances for Ascoli after spells with Vicenza, Latina and Sampdoria.

Atalanta have already recruited Serge Gakpe for the front-line in this transfer window.
