Berekum Chelsea captain Abdul Basi believes he can inspire the side to beat TP Mazembe in the seond group game of the Caf Champions League on Sunday.

The inspiration captain missed the matchday 1 victory over North African giants Zamalek in Accra to weeks ago due to a bout of malaria.

But he has recovered fully and raring to go at the newly constructed Mazembe 14,500 seater stadium in Lubumbashi on Sunday.

He says his return has re-ignted confidence in the team and urges his team-mates to take the game by the scruff of the neck against the four-time champions.

“I thank God I am fit now and I am also happy that since I recovered my colleagues have been extremely happy,” Basit said

“We are definitely going to leave no stone unturned and will do our best to ensure that at least we pick a point at their own backyard,”

“The players have been motivated enough to make mother Ghana proud.”

The enterprising enforcer is expected to marshall the heart of defence and make it difficult for their opponent to operate.

Chelsea lead the group by better goals scored with three points – the same number of points attained by Egyptian giants Â Al Ahly after the opening group games.
