Ghanaââ¬â¢s Sports Minister Kofi Humado hinted additional monies might be pumped into the Black Stars campaign at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Member of Parliament arrived in Gabon on Thursday and visited the Black Stars camp the following day to offer a timely boost ahead of Saturdayââ¬â¢s second Group D game against Mali.
And answering a direct question during a press briefing at the teamââ¬â¢s base in Ngouoni, Humado says though all material support for Ghanaââ¬â¢s campaign at the AFCON had already been sorted out before the team traveled there could be additional provisions made to take care of unforeseen eventualities.
ââ¬ÅI cannot go into details but you are aware that games of this nature require material support,â⬠he said.
ââ¬ÅWe have sat with the GFA back in Accra to look at what material support can be provided but that is just a budget.
ââ¬ÅDuring the implementation some unexpected needs might arise. And this is normal with any process of this nature.
ââ¬ÅThat you will not be able to anticipate everything during planning so you have to make provision for any eventuality that will arise.
ââ¬ÅSo I am here to see to what extent I can help the GFA officials to deal with any issues that are arising now which probably we did not expect.ââ¬
A budget of around $5.5m had earlier been approved by the government for the Black Stars' bid to end a 30-year wait for an African title.
Ghana currently leading Group D on the alphabetical order rule take on second-placed Mali at the Stade de Franceville Saturday evening.
