WAFA SC forward Daniel Lomotey is reported to have left the camp of the Black Meteors to sign a contract in Azerbaijan.

The 20-year-old marksman was part of the local-based players invited into the Black Meteors to start preparations for the 2019 Africa U-23 qualifier against Gabon on Saturday.

But the player departed the camp three days before the crucial encounter in order to secure a deal in Azerbaijan.

The Black Meteors will be looking to record an emphatic victory against Gabon to enhance their chances of qualifying to the next round of the qualifiers.

Lomotey was part of the Black Satellites team that exited the group stages of the U-20 AFCON held in Niger in February.

He scored two goals in three games for the side.
