Di Francesco calls for positive end to fantastic year for Sassuolo

Sassuolo coach Eusebio Di Francesco has demanded that his players not take their eye off the ball as the Neroverdi look to close an excellent 2015 with victory over Hellas Verona.

Sitting sixth in Serie A, Di Francesco takes his side to face the Mastini on the back of returning to winning ways against Sampdoria last week, looking to top off a calendar year that saw Sassuolo claim their best-ever league finish in June.

“The amount of points won in the calendar year give satisfaction and confirm the growth at our club, but we must not stop and have to finish 2015 in the best way possible,” the 46-year-old told reporters.

A number of injuries may worry Neroverdi fans although the January transfer window is just around the corner, something which Di Francesco will approach intelligently.

“The transfer market in January may disturb others,” he continued, “but it shouldn’t worry us and we will be smart.

“[Gregoire] Defrel, [Francesco] Magnanelli, [Emanuele] Terranova, and [Luca] Antei are injured but the rest are all available.

“I’m calm from this point of view, every squad member is alert and at any moment can become an important protagonist in the team.”
