Emenalo assured Loftus-Cheek ahead of penning Chelsea deal

Chelsea have included several guarantees in their new deal with Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

The Telegraph says Chelsea have promised to help the 20-year-old the chance to establish himself as a first-team regular.

The Blues feared Jose Mourinho's treatment of Loftus-Cheek would throw a renewal into doubt after the Portuguese publicly criticised some of his performances.

Chelsea were also wary of Manchester City, Manchester United and Bayern Munich, who were reputedly interested in poaching the young talent.

Loftus-Cheek has been assured by technical director Michael Emenalo that there is a plan in place to help his progression.

Manager Guus Hiddink also indicated Loftus-Cheek could feature more in the remaining 11 Premier League fixtures.
