Ghana FA Executive Committee Members Jordan Anagblah and George Afriyie have denied saying coach Goran Stevanovic ââ¬Ëdoes not listenââ¬â¢.
The duo believed to be against the retention of the Serbian trainer following Ghanaââ¬â¢s disappointing run at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations were reported to have made the statement to local radio stations.
But the Ghana FA vice President Anagblah and the Chairman of the national U-20 team (the Black Satelites), Afriyie vehemently dismissed making such comments regarding the coach at a feisty Press Conference on Wednesday.
ââ¬ÅWho is saying Jordan said the coach doesnââ¬â¢t listen. Who said that?â⬠Anagblah asked the packed conference. ââ¬ÅWhere is the person? The person should own upââ¬.
Afriyie also added: ââ¬ÅI donââ¬â¢t know if he (questionnaire) is quoting from a different source.
ââ¬ÅI said it on Asempa (local radio station) that if you ask me I said the coach failed. I never said the coach doesnââ¬â¢t listen that is different from saying the coach doesnââ¬â¢t listen.ââ¬
The now famous phrase ââ¬Ëthe coach doesnââ¬â¢t listenââ¬â¢ is one of the main reasons many are agitating for the immediate dismissal of the Stevanovic who failed to deliver on his promise to win the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
A decision is however yet to be made on the future of the ex Partizan Belgrade manager who has one year left to run on his two-year 30,000 Euro a month deal.
