The senior national team and the national U-20 male team will be decorated with state medals on Friday by Ghana President, John Atta-Mills.

The honuors is in recognition of the respective achievements of both teams in 2010 and 2009 respectively and will take place at the Accra International Conference Center.

The historic quarter final run of the Black Stars at the World Cup in South Africa last year earns them the Companion of the Order of the Volta while the technical team and its management will be decorated with the Grand Medal.

The Black Satelites who a year before won Africa's first World Cup at U-20 level in Egypt also receives the Companion of the Order of the Volta with its technical and management team taking the Grand Medal.

The Investiture Ceremony is to appreciate and reward distinguished personalities as part of Ghana's 51st Republic Day celebration.

It will be recalled that similar honours were conferred onto the Black Stars after their maiden performance at the World Cup in 2006 by former President John Kuffour.
