Ghanaian players attend Anagbla's one-week memorial

Ghana captain John Mensah led a host of foreign and local based players at the one week commemoration of the passing of Jordan Anagblah.

The Ghana FA Vice President died on June 14 at the Trust Hospital in Accra after battling a short illness.

Thursday's commemoration at the Aviation Park thus commences a series of events line up towards the final burial rights of the renowned football administrator on July 14.

Fred Crentsil who struggled but managed to offer a tribute on behalf of the Ghana FA Executive Committee at the event described the deceased as a great pillar full of passion for the development of football in the country.

"Jordan has been of great service to the development of football in this country," he said while sobbing.

"I have known Jordan for a very long time and I can tell you that he had so much love for the game of football.

"Jordan is gone today, the cup that we've known is broken into smithereens and that is why we are here."All I can say is, let us all have heart.

"Though he is gone, I believe he is resting in the bosom of the Lord."

Black stars captain, Mensah added on behalf of the players: "He (Anagblah) was a man who respected everyone and gave us a lot of respect and we in turn reciprocated that respect.

"He inspired us every time we were in battle and he will be sorely missed.

"I want to offer my deepest condolence to the family and ask them to take it easy though very painful for our father is at a better place."
