Espanyol's Ghanaian starlet Alexis Tawiah is earning raving reviews at the Estadio Cornella-El Prat for his massive talent.

The 16-year-old left-back who joined the Basque-based from Aspire Academy in 2008, has been tipped for success by Espanyol technical brains Fran Navaro and Dani Poyatos.

The Sunyani-born, whose technical ability, defensive qualities and pacey runs have been likened to Real Madrid's Marcelo.

He has already trained several times with the first team.

Tawiah told GHANAsoccernet.com he is bidding his time to break into the first team.

"I am happy there are expectations that I become a great player but for me, it is rather a responsibility and a challenge," he said.

"As a young player I need to remain focused and train hard to get to greater heights."
