Sporting Lisbon have released an emotional and classy video bidding farewell to Manchester United's new signing Bruno Fernandes.
Sporting confirmed the departure on Twitter with a video of Fernandes' highlights. It was captioned with the message: “Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them."
It then added in Portuguese: "Obrigado Capitão. Para sempre Leão." The club's English account translated that as "good luck and thank you, captain."
Fernandes will not feature for United in their Carabao Cup semi final second leg against Manchester City tonight (Wednesday). He still needs to iron out the personal terms of his transfer to the Old Trafford club and complete a medical at the club's Carrington training ground but those details are expected to be a formality and the midfielder will soon join up with his new teammates.
