Ghanaian defender Joseph Adjei was adjudged man-of-the match in Malkiya FC goalless draw with Al Hala in the Bahraini Cup on Saturday evening.

The Yellow and Green lads failed to advance to the next stage of the competition despite holding Al Hala to a goalless stalemate in front of their vociferous crowd at the Stād al-Bahrayn al-Watanī.

It was however a solid defensive display of the visitors – with the versatile former Wa All Stars guardsman in the thick of events as he caught the attention of match assessors.

The 23-year-old was announced as the Man of the Match just before the end of the game as a reward for yet another impressive display for the Malkiya-based side.

Malkiya will now turn their attention to having great campaign in the AFC Champions League when they play Omani outfit Al Suwaiq on February 27.

Adjei joined Malkiya FC late last year after ending his short stint with American second-tier side Oklahoma City Energy.
