Inter Allies claim shock victory over AshGold in Tema

Ashanti Gold missed the chance to climb second on the table after surprisingly losing 2-0 at bottom-placed Inter Allies on Wednesday.

The Miners coming from their commanding victory over leaders Asante Kotoko were widely tipped to brush aside the misfiring Allies but they were shocked as they suffered defeat.

Prosper Kassim's 86th minute finish sealed victory for Herbert Addo's side after Dennis Agyare had converted from the spot for Allies.

Bashir Hayford's side were reduced to ten men after Joseph Ato-Bissah got his marching orders in the 63rd minute for a second bookable offends.

Herbert Addo had spoken of his side's poor finishing during the week but this was a performance that spoke of much changes in terms of quality of play and finishing - chances created were dully converted to scrap the win.

AshGold still remain third with 22 points a point behind second-placed Hearts of Oak who lost against Medeama SC in Cape Coast.
