Inter boss Roberto Mancini is reportedly interested in signing Fenerbahce left-back Caner Erkin.

The Italian tactician is believed to have been a fan of the player since his time in Turkey, where he coached Galatasaray for a single season, and now wants to bring him to the Nerazzurri in a bid to bolster his defence.

According to FcInternews.it, Erkin would be available as soon as his contract with the Turkish giants expires at the end of the season, with the Biscone keen on acquiring him in the  summer when he will be available on a free transfer.

So far this season Erkin has made nine appearances in the Turkish Super League for Fenerbahce, creating one assist. The 27-year-old is also a Turkish international with 42 caps to his name.

Over his six-year spell with the club, he has made 152 appearances in total, scoring just nine times.
