Kevin Boateng set for Black Stars return

Ghana midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng is set to return to the Black Stars after vowing his commitment to the country, MTNFootball.com can exclusively reveal.

The AC Milan player agreed that he will strictly abide by the code of conduct for all players in the Black Stars.

This comes after the player held clear-the-air talks with Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi and assistant coach Akwesi Appiah in Italy on Wednesday.

The German-born player has not been invited to the national team since falling out with coach Goran Stevanovic over his commitment to the Black Stars four months ago.

In a bid to find a lasting solution to the problem, Nyantakyi, with the blessing of Stevanovic, travelled to Milan to discuss concerns over Boateng’s conduct.

The meeting was highly successful and this could pave the way for the AC Milan star to be considered for future matches.

“It was an amicable meeting and result oriented meeting and we are all satisfied with the discussion that took place,” Nyantakyi told MTNFootball.com.

“It turned out to be some misunderstanding so it created an erroneous impression that team discipline had been compromised.

“He renewed his commitment to play for Ghana and he said Ghana is his national team – a country he has personally chosen to play at international level.

“He renewed his commitment of complying with the code of conduct for players in the Black Stars.

“Most importantly he underscored his loyalty and respect to the head coach Mr. Goran Stevanovic. It was evident that he is committed to the Black Stars.”

With the revelation Boateng is now available for selection for the Black Stars and coach Stevanovic will now consider him for future matches.

Nyantakyi and coach Stevanovic insist they must send the country’s best players to the 2012 Cup of Nations where they are one of the favourites.
