Kotoko talisman Sogne Yacouba gets fourth Burkina Faso call-up

Kotoko striker Sogne Yacouba is line to make his fourth appearance for Burkina Faso after being handed a call-up ahead of the final 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania.

Yacouba, 27, marked his  debut for the Stallions in an international friendly against Kazakhstan, climbing off the bench in their 0-0 draw at the Ortaliq stadium on May 12, 2015.

He also played in friendlies against Benin home and away.

The striker has been in tremendous form scoring two goals in the group stages of the competition as well as creating several goals for the Reds.

Yacouba, who joined Asante Kotoko from Stade Malien impressed the technical handlers of the Stallions of Burkina Faso and the 27-year old, earning him a return to the team.

Burkina Faso are third in group I of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers and will need a win against leaders Mauritania to stand a chance of qualifying should Angola lose to Botswana.

Yacouba's performances has seen him attract interest from Egyptian giants Al Ahly and was contacted by officials of Al Hilal of Sudan on Sunday after another fine display.
