Maran: Chievo never gave up against Inter

Chievo coach Rolando Maran believes a result for his team would have been justified in their narrow 1-0 loss to Inter on Wednesday evening.

Despite conceding the majority of play to the Nerazzurri, the Gialloblu came close to earning a late equaliser and the 52-year-old was pleased with his team’s determination.

“We came close to a result at the San Siro, a sign that the boys never gave up,” he told reporters after the match.

“I’m sorry that we conceded at the start of the second half which made us lose some conviction.”

One of the visitors’ standout performers was goalkeeper Andrea Seculin who was forced into a number of quality saves on debut and the former Catania coach was happy with his progress.

“He did well,” he continued. “It’s a sign that we are working well together.”
