Palermo boss Delio Rossi admits Ghana's in-form sensation Afriyie Acquah endured a torrid time the first-half of their Coppa Italia semi-final victory over AC Milan on Tuesday night.

Rossi took off the 19-year-old midfielder and replaced by Armin Bacinovic at the beginning of the second half, in a move that shocked many fans.

But the tactician has explained his decision insisting he did the right thing.

"I felt bad replacing Acquah, but the lad was having some tactical problems and was perhaps a little too anxious at this big occasion. I'm confident he will be of great use to the team starting from tomorrow," Rossi said.

"A coach has to make choices, such as leaving out Fabrizio Miccoli or sending others to the stands. I'm glad the fans know I always try to do what's best for the team."

The win gives the Shepherd their third final in its history, after those centered in 1974 and 1979.
