Egyptian club Petrojet are claiming damages against midfielder Cofie Bekoe for joining Lierse SK without their permission.

The 24-year-old joined the Belgian top flight club this summer but Petrojet insist they did not sanction the move.

The Egyptian side is thus poised to hurl the former Tema Youth player before the Court of Arbitration for Sports for adjudication.

Bekoe was said to have engineered the move to revive his career following the cancelation of the Egyptian League in February.

But the Suez-based club are unwilling to relinquish their financial rights over the player, pointing out several breaches including the use of the player in pre-season friendly games.

Bekoe has won just two caps for the Black Stars and is yet to score.
