Piatek close to leaving Milan to move to Hertha for €27m (Di Marzio)

Hertha Berlin look to have swooped seemingly from nowhere and completed a deal to sign striker Krzysztof Piatek from AC Milan.

Louis Girardi reported Chelsea and Hertha had placed €27m bids for the Poland international, but that the player’s agent is pushing for a move to Tottenham.

Charlie Eccleshare of The Athletic then reported there is ‘a real chance’ that Spurs can get a deal for Piatek over the line.

However, Bild reporter Marcel Braune believes Piatek’s move to the Bundesliga side is imminent, with the forward due in the German capital soon for a medical.

According to the latest from Gianluca Di Marzio, Piatek is getting closer to leaving Milan to move to Hertha Berlin a year after joining from Genoa in a €35m deal.

The German club arrived today in Italy to meet the Rossoneri leadership and present a new offer after the first had been deemed too low. They tabled a bid worth €27million plus bonuses to buy the player outright.

The negotiation proceeded swiftly and that now seems to have almost reached the white smoke, with Hertha having beaten fierce competition from the Premier League.
