Rampant Bahrain continue winning ways

Manama: Host nation Bahrain made it two wins from two, overpowering Palestine 5-0, while Lebanon defeated United Arab Emirates 2-0 on Matchday Two of the WAFF Women's Championship.

BAHRAIN 5-0 PALESTINE

Bahrain built on Monday's 3-2 win over Lebanon with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Palestine, as Yasmeen Tobellah bagged a brace for the hosts chasing their first West Asian title.

It took time to break the Palestinians down, but Bahrain finally took the lead through Tobellah's successfully converted penalty in the first minute of first half stoppage time.

The floodgates then opened, with Hessa Alisa scoring her third goal in two matches in the 56th minute, before Eman Ramadhan made it 3-0 in the 73rd minute.

Tobellag added her second just two minutes later, before Leleya Sabkar rounded off a convincing performance with the fifth and final goal 11 minutes from time.

LEBANON 2-0 UNITED ARAB EMIRATES

Lebanon scored late goals in each half to bounce back from Monday's loss to Bahrain and consign United Arab Emirates to a second successive defeat.

Rana Mokdad made the most her appearance in the Lebanese lineup, giving her side the lead the in the second minute of first half stoppage time, before 18-year-old Samira Awad sealed the three points when she doubled the lead four minutes from time.

The five-team WAFF Women's Championship is being held over five Matchdays. with the title to be decided on January 15.
