New Edubiase United striker Stephen Manu has expressed regret at turning down a move abroad to play at the African Nations Championship.

The lanky forward underwent a medical at Tunisian side Esperance late last year but could not concretize a deal.

Ghana failed to meet expectations and got eliminated from the Group phase of the second edition of the competition.

Manu, the only surviving player from the side that won silver two years ago, made three appearances as a second half substitute for Herbert Addo's side.

"I had an offer abroad, but I turned it down to play at the CHAN. With our disappointing performance I regret not taking it up," Manu told the Ghana News Agency

"It is part of life and we learn from our mistakes. This experience will help my decision making in future."

Manu is expected to lead the lines for New Edubiase against his former side Kotoko when the league resumes on 2 March.
