Ghanaian side Right to Dream academy secured their first win at the 2018 J-League International Youth Cup in Japan when defeating South Korean outfit Pohang Steelers 1-0 on Thursday.

The Akosombo-based side won the tough Group B match thanks to a first-half strike by Chukwumeka secured all the three points in the match.

The huge No. 9 striker outwitted his marker and dribbled the goalkeeper in the 29th minute to grab the victory after a well-worked move from the middle.

With exquisite ball obsession and high individual ability, Right to Dream dominated the game although Pohang, on the other hand, made some gains with sporadic counter-attacks.

In the second half Right to Dream did not relax their attack, but Pohang's focus on its defence ensured that the score was not increased.

"I am very happy that we got the 3 points. There was also a scene which removed the shoot, but it was good that we could win. We definitely want to win next even to advance to the finals," Chukwumeka said.

The victory takes the Ghanaian side to the top of the Group B table with four points after they were held to a 1-1 draw in their opening match against Yokohama Marinos.
